Fun and Easy Ways to Re-Vamp Any Room

1. Paint: Pick one accent color. Whether this is a color for a mirror frame, a piece of furniture in the room, or a whole wall. Make sure it's a color you can live with, that you won't get tired of. Also, make sure and pick the right finish for your surface.

2. A yard or two of fabric: I've made countless throw pillows for sofas, large floor poof-pillows, bolster pillows for bedrooms and small cushions for chairs which can spice up an old set of dining room chairs or can be just perfect as a seasonal accent. Don't know how to sew! That shouldn't be a problem. When recovering seat cushions on chairs you will just need a fabric staple gun. They also sell iron-on adhesive tape which can come in handy for small throw pillows.

3. Fold Away tray tables: You can find so many varieties of styles for these utilitarian pieces at every price range. I have found a very simple TV-tray table can serve as an excellent entry table for keys or a great place for a drink mixing station when two tray tables are placed together.

4. Hardware: Changing the hardware on a dresser, cabinets, or even a faucet in a powder bath can be a small change that had a big impact.

Spring 2011: Shirt Dresses & Bold Florals

Shirt dresses Top, bottom left to right:
RACHEL by Rachel Roy Shirt dress, Macys.com
Snake Print Safari, Michael Kors
Joie Marge Silk Dress, Nordstrom

Accessories for Spring 2011 are going to be large, fun and made from fabric and woven styles with a tribal flare. Check out Crumley for more styles.

I want to be loud with bright bold floral patterns but I am also partial to retro designs. The first top is from a metal designer named Erin Waxman. Her objects can be found at Art Star.
This store was featured in Lucky Magazine's Philadelphia Shopping Guide.

I was at a fashion show at Saks Fifth Ave for a local charity, The Octopus Club and I saw this Joie Resort collection top. I loved the almost block style print and the retro color combo. Orange, red and blue floral patterns are my favorite.
